Who we are: The Purchase Public Service Corporation (PPSC) is a nonprofit corporation established by the Purchase Area Development District to provide for the proper operation of infrastructure facilities throughout the region.

What we do: The PPSC provides assistance with the consolidation of existing systems and has assumed ownership of poorly managed or abandoned treatment facilities. PPSC also provides utility billing services on a contractual basis.

Program Accomplishments:

· PPSC continues to contract with Mayfield Water & Electric Systems for operation of the Thomas Country Estates, Highland Club Estates, and Holifield Heights wastewater treatment systems. The Paducah-McCracken County Joint Sewer Agency continues to operate the Blandville West Estates, Great Oaks Subdivision, and Golden Acres Subdivision wastewater treatment systems. PPSC still provides administrative services to these utilities.

· Staff assisted the Consumers Water District with administration and close out of their 2020 Water Management Grant.

· Staff continues to assist the Center Ridge Water System with administration of their 2020 Water Management Grant.

· Staff provided technical assistance to Hickman County in meeting Area Solid Waste Management Planning requirements.

· Staff administered the Waste Tire Disposal Program for the region which resulted in the proper disposal of approximately 4,000 waste tires.

· Staff continues to monitor Eight-Hour Ozone Attainment Status Levels for the Purchase as well as their potential impact on the region.

· PPSC continues to provide utility billing services to the cities of Columbus, Kevil, and the Hickory Water District.

Where: PPSC offers these services to all eight Purchase counties.

How: Operation of wastewater treatment systems is funded through monthly fees paid by customers served by the plants. The Water Management Planning Process is funded through the Kentucky Infrastructure Authority (KIA).
