Board of Directors

Life Time Service Awards ...

At the December 2011 meeting of the PADD Board of Directors, three members were honored for their long-time service to the Board. Mr. Joe Bolin of Calloway County, Judge Executive Mike Miller of Marshall County, and Mr. Buddy Smith of McCracken County have each served more than 30 years. In recognition of their service, their names have been added to a Lifetime Service plaque that will hang in the lobby of the PADD.

DLG Conservation Funds

The Department for Local Government is accepting applications for the 2012 Land and Water Conservation Fund program and the 2012 Recreational Trails program. Transportation

Section 5310 Application

Grant applications for Section 5310 program are now being accepted by the Office of Transportation Delivery. This grant provides reimbursement funding for the acquisition of vehicles and equipment, which will be used to provide transportation services to the elderly and or persons with disabilities. Applications should be submitted to PADD by March 9. A Section 5310 application procedure meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 7 at 1:30 pm. Aging

Caregiver Support Groups

To assist grandparents in caring for their grandchildren, the Kentucky Family Caregiver Program recently implemented monthly support groups at the Mayfield-Graves County Senior Citizen Center and the Murray-Calloway County Senior Citizen Center. Free for anyone who wishes to attend, the support groups have brought to light some of the real difficulties these grandparents face with the task of raising children in today’s society. Operation Workforce

Operation Workforce events can range from community career/job fairs, introduction of industries to the community, or industry sector showcases. Communities are encouraged to customize their event to meet their local needs and should highlight workforce activities, local business needs, and employee preparedness or workforce information to benefit citizens.
