Purchase Area Housing Corporation

The Purchase Area Housing Corporation (PAHC) is a non-profit corporation and was formed to provide low- to moderate-income families, the elderly, handicapped, and other persons with housing facilities and services specially designed to meet their physical, social and psychological needs and to promote their health, security, happiness, and usefulness in longer living.

 

Several housing opportunities are provided through PAHC for families in the eight-county Purchase area of Kentucky.

Public Notice

The Kentucky Department for Local Government is accepting applications for CDBG 2008 Disaster Recovery Funds. On September 15, 2010 Purchase Area Development District will submit applications for The City of Benton and for Graves County. Plans are to apply for assistance to purchase generators for elderly apartments in Benton, Wingo and Fancy Farm. The purpose of this notice is to make public that application and provide the public an opportunity to comment on the proposal. Information about the proposed project is available and the application material and plans are available for review by contacting Tom Meurer at the Purchase Area Development District office until September 15, 2010. We are interested in obtaining views on housing and community development needs, review proposed activities, review the proposed application, and solicit public comments. Technical assistance is available to help groups representing low and moderate income persons in developing proposals.

The following information concerning the CDBG program is available for public inspection during regular business hours:

  • Amount of funds available and range of activities that may be undertaken.
  • Estimated amounts of funds proposed to be used for activities benefiting persons of low and moderate income.
  • Plans for minimizing displacement of persons as a result of activities associated with CDBG funds and plans for providing assistance to those persons to be actually displaced as a result of CDBG-funded activities.
  • Records regarding the past use of CDBG funds
  • A summary of other important program requirements.

Comments on Application:

A copy of the CDBG application material will be available for citizens’ review and comment during regular business hours from September 7, 2010 through September 15, 2010. Comments on the proposed application may be submitted to the attention of Tom Meurer, Purchase Area Development District, PO Box 588, Mayfield, KY 42066 telephone 270-251-6113 until the close of business on September 15, 2010.
